Now for the biggest news since it was announced Glastonbury was cancelled….

It is with a heavy heart that we must cancel this years Weirfest!

It’s not what we want to do, but taking the current pandemic and potential restrictions on live music events, we feel it is the sensible option to take.

As we are sure everyone is aware, an event like Weirfest takes a lot of time and effort to organise and with the possibility that, even after the latest government announcements regarding the restrictions surrounding events and social contact being lifted, there is the potential that restrictions could be extended which would leave us high and dry with a large event organised which we are unable to hold. Stock would have been bought, logistics, equipment, and staffing sorted (plus everything else that goes into organising an event of this nature) and as a small business who will still be feeling the effects of the coronavirus pandemic we are unable to take that risk.

We hope you can understand, but don’t fear, all being well we will be back for what would still be the 10th Anniversary of the Ship Inn’s Weirfest in 2022!!

From humble beginnings – the pictures of the first one are on our facebook page here -, to what it is now, our little beer festival has grown and grown and we find ourselves just waiting to hold the
